How do I sign up for a class?
What are the payment options?
Do I have to do a scene?
No. Scene work is optional for your first class, but we strongly encourage it in future classes.
How do I receive my scene?
Do I need experience to study with James?
No. James welcomes actors of all levels. Beginners often benefit from starting with a clean slate, and even experienced actors are encouraged to approach the craft as lifelong learners.
Does James teach every class?
Yes—James teaches all classes personally, except for industry guest workshops.
What’s the class format?
Each class begins with a lecture rooted in acting theory and methodology, followed by scene work. Scenes may be read with a partner or a designated reader. James offers live feedback, redirection, and adjustments. Questions are welcome.
How long are the classes?
- Zoom classes: Typically 3 hours
- In-person classes: Often run longer
How many students are in each class?
Classes average around 15 students, though numbers may vary due to our flexible makeup policy.
How often do classes meet?
Once a week. When signing up for Zoom, choose your preferred day (e.g., Mondays, Wednesdays) and attend that day each week.
Do I bring my own material?
No. We provide professionally written material from major productions for each class.
Can I work on an audition instead?

Possibly. James has helped many serious, committed actors in the community gain representation through consistent, long-term training.
Will James review my materials?
Only as part of a one-on-one consultation or specialized class.
